14 weeks, 3 days

So if you are sitting there confused and wondering why I have two blog posts for week 14, it is because the baby doctor updated our expected due date last week and turns out we were previously tracking Sprout ahead of schedule. This means we are lucky enough to have the longest 14th week of pregnancy ever!!! As you can see from my pic, the baby is starting to get bigger (somewhere between the size of a lemon and a naval orange this week) and my chub bumps are growing. I look down every morning wondering what kind of misshape bloated tummy rolls are going to appear next.

Along with the joys of becoming a “well-rounded” preggger, I have had some not-so-good side effects of little Sprout. After barely walking because of extreme pressure and pain in my tummy, the hubby was able to take me to see our baby doctor today to see what was wrong. The good news is that Sprout is healthy, doing well, and is right where he is supposed to be. The bad news is, the doctor thinks I have always had something called extreme bladder pain syndrome (or something like that) that has now flared up because of growing baby. This means Sprout is fine, and I’m in pain. But, we’re crossing our fingers and hoping that as the baby moves up in my tummy that the less pressure on my bladder will relieve some pain. Sounds very optimistic, but here’s to trying!

On a lighter note, last night I was able to beat my all-time high bowling score and got a whopping 244! My previous high game was only 225, so this was a major leap for me. And for those concerned mother-types that are wondering why I was bowling last night if I was in so much pain…..SQUIRREL!  If that didn't work for you then try this one....I'm 1/2 Mexican and 1/2 Italian....stubbornness runs in the family!
