With baby daddy by my side and questions in hand, Michael and I went to our first prenatal appointment today at Bellevue Group Health office. Our nurse's name was Cheryl Cadron and had the personality of an aggravated-concerned mother. Our goal for the pregnancy: Eat Healthy, Exercise, No Sugar! Nurse Cheryl was very adamant about these necessary pregger rules. Michael was awesome and asked a ton of good questions, and of course I ran down my list of questions too. Things like:
- Can I dye by hair?
- Will tight pants hurt the baby?
- Can I still have the wine during communion at mass on Sundays?
All of which the answer was "No." I was convinced I had the really important questions covered. And then I heard Michael's questions asking about important stuff like vaccinations. I thought to myself, "Wait....the baby is only the size of a blueberry! Isn't it a little early to think about vaccines?" But apparently the first vaccination comes on the birth day of baby sprout?!? Okay fine, guess we'll have to start deciding on all of that stuff sooner than later.
After some long conversations around nutrition and exercising we headed down to the lab to do some blood work. Should be getting our blood results in about 4 days. Meanwhile, we have our next appointment to look forward to on Thursday 10/29 at 11am! We will get to do an ultrasound and get to hear little sprout's heart beat. Friggen Yay!
